Our Presentation :

The presenter will provide a history of trends in the market for personal property, and how trends change sometimes for the worse. Current trends will also be discussed.

Personal property wealth being transferred from one generation to the next, and how does the personal property wealth come in to play. What are the different avenues of liquidation and how do they compare to one another?

Two main appraisal assignments are Replacement Valuation and Fair Market Valuations. How does a professional convey to the client of the beneficiaries the differences of each, and why there are such drastic market values on each?

The presenter will summarize the points and also explain why it is important to trust the professional or Auction Gallery you use for the sale of the items. How to ask the important questions, and what those questions are.

Takeaways will include a broader knowledge of current trends, the different avenues for liquidation, why is an auction gallery the largest market, and why trust is so important in the selection of such galleries.

About Our Speaker:

Deric Torres is Senior Vice President of Clars Auction Gallery, joining their team in 2009. He was instrumental in helping turn Clars into a nationally recognized auction gallery. Deric has brought many multi-million dollar estates and institutions to Clars from coast to coast, many achieving record-setting prices in every department at the gallery. Deric played a pivotal role in securing property from the illustrious Metropolitan Museum of Art NYC. He made national news with the discovery of a rare Japanese cloisonne vase, executed for the Chicago Worlds Columbian Exhibition 1893, that was long thought lost and is now in a public institution. He has also been a regular guest commentator on Northern and Southern California’s PBS television, and the Seattle/Tacoma region.
